The team behind Gallops & Greys contacted us in January 2019 to discuss a broad strokes idea they had around providing an online tipping service to punters wanting to have a successful day at the races - armed with a handful of tips that were considered likely to come in for the day.
During our initial discussion we talked around the approach we could take to allow customers to create and manage their own online subscriptions - which they could opt in and out of at any time - along with ideas around the best way to present the tipping information on both desktop and smartphone devices.
What we ultimately came up with was a solution that leveraged the Stripe payment gateway. We created a system that would charge customers on a required subscription cycle, and allow any customer the capacity to opt out of their subscription at any time with just one easy click. By providing a set of self service options for customers to be able to administer their own accounts, we were able to minimise the cost of maintaining email and phone based customer service officers - making the business model as efficient as possible.
We also worked on creating a number of automated email services that would alert the customer to when new tips and results were available online, and we also created an auto-calculating weekly summary email that presents the results across all subscription packages.
In addition to the website design and development component of this project, we were also commissioned to create all the branding assets for the business - including logos, colour palettes and fonts - and a number of advertising tiles for channels like Facebook.
